Kosovo to hold general election on Nov 17

PRISTINA, Aug 31 (Reuters) The UN administration in the breakaway Serbian province of Kosovo has agreed with the leaders of the ethnic Albanian majority to hold parliamentary and local elections on November 17, officials said today.

The vote is likely to raise political tension as the province tries to secure independence from Serbia in internationally-mediated talks due to finish in early December.
