Haryana Tourism to develop intranet system

Chandigarh, Aug 31 (UNI) The Haryana Tourism is developing a state-wide intranet system to connect all its tourism information Centres for improving its services to attract tourists from all over the world.

Minister of State for Tourism and Forests Kiran Choudhry today said the purpose of connecting all tourism information centres was to provide the facility of online booking of international quality.

The system will also help in providing information to the corporate offices on daily basis, for monitoring the functioning of all tourists complexes.

Besides, the new system would help in providing tourism related information about the state across the world, linking with booking office.

Ms Choudhry said while keeping pace with information revolution, it was very important to evolve integrated information system of all the tourist complexes in the state and utilise the potential of internet, which had become a global phenomenon.

She said under this project, the exisiting website of Haryana Tourism would be redesigned. The online reservation system and the software available with National Informatics Centre-Himachal Pradesh State Centre would also be developed and customised.

The minister said it had been decided that bookings of all the tourist complexes would be made through internet. With this facility the tourists would be able to access the information regarding Haryana Tourism from anywhere in the world. After logging on to the website, they would be able to know the tariffs, room details and would also be able to make reservations online, she added.

Ms Choudhry further said after being online, every tourist complex would manage large customer base, more number of booking offices and bigger agents' network with strong, effective, instant and automated communication. Reservation would be made instantly by using credit cards, she added.
