Pak terrorist outfits not behind Hyd balsts: Khan

Dhaka, Aug 30: Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan today rejected India's allegation that terrorist outfits from Pakistan were behind the recent bombings in Hyderabad.

''The Allegation is rejected,'' he said at a press briefing on the outcome of the Bangladesh-Pakistan Foreign Secretary level meeting that ended here this morning.

''Incidents of terrorism ought to be investigated wherever they takes place. As far as Pakistan is concerned, if there is any specific information or fact, Islamabad ready to extend assistance for investigation,'' he said.

Reiterating Islamabad's resolve to fight terrorism and extremism, Mr Khan said, ''we condemn unequivocally terrorists because terrorism and extremism are anti-progress forces that tend to destabilise societies.'' He said terrorism was a phenomenon that afflicted many regions and countries in the world including Bangladesh, Pakistan and India.

Pakistan, he said had cooperation with many countries including India in countering terrorism. ''In our own interest we are fighting the forces of terrorism and extremism,'' he said.
