Security forces in Kashmir kill militant
Srinagar, Aug 30: The security forces killed a militant of Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammad and busted a hideout recovering war like stores in the Kashmir valley overnight.
A police spokesman said troops of 2 Para and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police conducted a joint operation at Balkul Gali top last night following a tip off about the presence of militants there.
During the operation an encounter took place in which a JeM militant Ali Raja, a resident of Pakistan, was killed. One AK rifle, three magzines and 45 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
He said the security forces during a search operation at Lashidat, Machil, recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, including five AK 47 rifles, 18 AK magazines, 372 AK rounds, one wireless set, one wire cutter, and four rack sack, seven hand grenade, ten UBGL, 20 meters cordex, 50 detonators and two TNT slab, all of these were destroyed.
Meanwhile, one person was abducted from the valley.
