UP BJP blames Mayawati for targetting Hindus in Agra,Ambedkarnagar
Lucknow, Aug 29 (UNI) The BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit today charged the Mayawati-government with fomenting communal trouble in the state and victmising Hindus in the process.
''The Bahujan Samaj Party-led government has been targeting the majority community and indulging in Muslim appeasement which resulted into communal trouble in Agra and Ambedkarnagar,''BJP legislature party leader Om Prakash Singh told reporters here.
He alleged the law and order situation in the state had deteriorated under BSP rule and the governmnent had failed to protect the rights of the people in general and Hindus in particular.
BJP strongly condemned communal incidents and demanded deployment of central forces to check such incident like riots in Agra which led to indefinite curfew in the Taj city, Mr Singh said.
The BJP leader said his party would not be a mute spectator to laxity on the part of state administration and the party cadre would come on the streets to protest.
He would personally visit Agra to take stock of the situation while other senior party leader Lalji Tandon would go to Ambedkarnagar which had witnessed the communal disturbances recently.
