Two top HM militants surrender in J&K

Jammu, Aug 29: Two active Hizbul Mujahideen militants today laid down their arms and ammunition before security forces in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

''HM commanders Jahangir and Bilal, who were active since 1996 and 1998 respectively, surrendered before 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police this morning,'' SSP Doda Manohar SIngh told sources.

The militants also handed over two AK rifles, 10 magazines, 300 rounds of ammunition and a wireless set besides large quantity of other material, he said.
