Patna,Aug 29 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today warned of stern action against those found guilty of dereliction in discharging their duties in flood relief operation.

After inspecting a relief centre and taking stock of the ongoing relief operation in the flood-ravaged area in Samastipur district, Mr Kumar said necessary instruction had been issued to authorities to ensure relief to all the victims without any discrimination.

''The fodder, which has reached here from Punjab, would be distributed free of cost in the flood-ravaged areas and the officer concerned has been directed to open outlets at different places to ensure its smooth supply,'' he added.

A report from Saharsa said police resorted to lathicharge on the flood victims of Belwar and Katuar panchayats when they were protesting the non-distribution of relief materials among them.
