Rupee edges up by 6 paise against USD

The
rupee
ended
firm
today
at
Rs
41.10/11
against
the
US
Dollar,
moving
up
by
six
paise
as
compared
to
the
previous
close
of
Rs
41.16/17
per
dollar
in
an
actively
traded
forex
market.
The local currency today opened weak at Rs 41.35/36 per USD and traded in a wide range of 41.10/11-41.35/36 per dollar. It touched a high of Rs 41.10/11 per dollar and a low of Rs 41.35/36 per dollar, before it ended stronger, dealers said.
Dealers also said exporters repatriated profits by selling dollars, which helped the local unit to move up.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate at Rs 41.24 per US dollar. The reference rate was down further by 12 paise, compared to previous day's rate of Rs 41.12 per USD.
