RS mourns death of Jagdish Mathur

New Delhi, Aug 29:The Rajya Sabha today mourned the passing away of former member Jagdish Prasad Mathur and observed a minute's silence as a mark of respect.

Mr Mathur represented the Sikar district of Rajasthan and was also a member of sixth Lok Sabha. He died on August 4 at the age of 80.

Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari said Mathur was an active advocate and a social worker. ''We have lost an able parliamentarian.''
