Retired Army man arrested with illegal firearms

Sheohar, Aug 29 (UNI) Police have arrested a retired havildar of the Indian Army and his nephew for possessing a cache of illegal firearms.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Kumar Mishra here today said acting on a tip-off, police raided havildar Munna Mahto's house at Madhavpur Anant village under Sheohar police station yesterday and arrested him and his nephew Sambhu Mahto.

A country made rifle, a gun and a country made pistol besides several live cartridges were recovered from their possession, the SP added.
