New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) Congress MP Sajjan Kumar today sought immediate notification of the Delhi government's decision to regularise 1,500 illegal colonies in the national capital, saying this was essential to save the livelihoods of 40 lakh people.

Making a special mention on the issue in Lok Sabha, he expressed concern over the Supreme Court's direction shutting all commercial establishments in those colonies within three weeks.

Claiming that those colonies cropped up over a period of 20-25 years, Mr Kumar said these colonies should be legalised and regularised through Central legislation and sought a Bill for the purpose.

Mr Prabodh Panda(CPI) expressed concern over the unfettered broadcast of over 3,000 channels through Internet protocol television (IPTV), alleging even pornographic videos were being telecast through it. Seeking a check, he said if not done it could also lead to security implications for the country.

Choudhary Lal Singh of Congress said workers who had done work for 100 days under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme had not been paid wages in Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said an MP on monitoring committee of the scheme has ''no worth'' and was powerless to get payment to those who had worked.
