No specific information on disappearance of Pak visitors:Govt

New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) There was no specific information about the disappearance of people coming to the country from Pakistan after the opening of transit routes in Rajasthan and Punjab, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, in a written reply, said, however, there were cases of Pakistani nationals overstaying as well as going missing in the country.

He was asked by a member about reports that since the time of the opening of transit routes to Rajasthan and Punjab, every week people from Pakistan were coming to India and then disappearing, and remaining untraceable by the state governments.

The Minister said the possibility of undesirable elements attempting to infiltrate into country and posing a threat to the security of the country could not be ruled out.
