Naga: Minor girl buried alive in landslide

Kohima, Aug 29: A minor girl was buried alive in a landslide at Phesema area at National Highway 39 at Police Reserve here.

Official sources today said Limtela (6) was buried alive yesterday in the landslide triggered by heavy to medium downpour since the past one week.

Local residents managed to dig her out immediately and rushed to the Naga Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

Meanwhile, many roads, including NH 39 between Dimapur and Kohima and in the Mao Gate area at Manipur, were damaged due to landslides.

Border Road Task Force (BRTF) personnel were working round the clock to maintain traffic flow, official sources added.
