Ixia opens R & D, customer support centre

Bangalore, Aug 29 (UNI) Ixia, a provider of performance test systems for IP-based infrastructure and services, opened up its Research and Development and Customer Support Centre here to cater to its Indian customers.

Making the announcment at a press conference here, Ixia Executive Vice President (Operations) Sam Bass said the state-of-the-art facility would help strengthen the company's presence in India by offering a wide variety of services including sales, comprehensive training, proof-of-concept and certification lab.

Stressing India had evolved to become one of Ixia's key markets for expansion accounting for 30 per cent of its R&D activities, Mr Bass said India was poised for substantial sales growth in the next three years due to increased R&D activities from long-standing US- based equipment manufacturing customers.

With the launch of the modern facility to stage Next Generation IP Performance Testing Solutions, the company now had more than 130 engineers in India offering customers core R&D functions, fully equipped labs to support both pre and post sales activities, including professional training and staging real-world triple-play testing scenarios.

The IP Performance Testing Solutions market in the Asia Pacific, including India, was expected to grow 12 per cent over the next five years to touch 296 million US Dollar by 2012.

Ixia had invested over Rs 4.5 crore in the facility which also enables the company to more effectively utilise the talent of local software engineers and support local customers in the successful deployment of their IP networking technology.
