Ixia opens R and D and Customer Support Center

Bangalore, Aug 29 (UNI) Ixia, a leading provider of performance test systems for IP-based infrastructure and services globally, has opened up its Research and Development and Customer Support Center here to cater to its India customers.

Announcing at a press conference here Ixia Executive Vice President (operations) Sam Bass said that the new state-of-the-art facility would help strengthen the presence of the company in India.

The facility would offer a wide variety of services including sales, service, comprehensive training and a proof-of-concept and certification lab, he said.

Stressing that India had evolved to become one of Ixia's key markets for expansion, accounting for 30 per cent of its R&D activities, Mr Bass informed that India was poised for substantial sales growth in the next three years due to increased R&D activities from long-standing U.S based equipment manufacturer customers.

Mr Bass said that with the launch of the modern facility to stage Next Generation IP Performance Testing Solutions the company now had more than 130 engineers in India offering customers core R&D functions, fully equipped labs to support both pre and post sales activities including professional training and the staging of real-world Triple-play testing scenarios. The in-house training department offers hands-on training for Ixia systems and testing technologies as well as seminars designed to certify users on specific Ixia test applications, he said.

He said the IP performance Testing Solutions market in the Asia Pacific including India was expected to grow 12 per cent over the next five years to touch 296 million USD by 2012.

Data convergence of video and voice, IPTV/VIdeo on demand, 3G&4G wireless, Carrier Ethenet are some of the trends that favour the growing IP testing market in India.

Ixia had invested over Rs 4.5 crore in the State-of-the-art facility which also enables the company to more effectively utilise the talent of local software engineers and to support local customers in the successful deployment of their IP networking technology.
