India to carve a niche in intl flower market

Indian
floriculture
sector
is
flourishing
its
miniscule
share
in
the
world
trade.
Exports
make
over
a
half
percent
of
the
$80
bn
international
flower
trade.
India is home to over 2000 varieties of flowers like roses, carnations, chrysanthemums and orchids. Exports are very crucial to the flower industry as the domestic market is seeing a major growth in the export of flowers. Japan has emerged as the biggest market for Indian flowers.
