Chennai, Aug 29 (UNI) IDP Education, the largest recruiter of international students for Australian educational institutions, would organise 'The Australian Education Interview Programme'- the largest representation of Australian Universities and Institutions here on September 19.

Organised twice a year, the event would have the participation of over 100 academics and representatives from more than 30 education institutions from Australia, a IDP release here said.

Unlike the traditional exhibitions, the event would be a structured programme, offering students and parents the opportunity to interact with an Australian representative to finalise career plans and obtain admission letters, in a 15-minute exclusive interview.

The programme, supported by the Australian Trade Commission, Government of Australia and the Australian Alumni Association, India, offers students a huge savings on application fees as well.

Students interested to attend the programme are required to register in advance at the IDP office or at www.idp.com/india for counselling and appointments, the release added.

Lyndon Joseph, Manager, IDP Education, said ''Australia has a long and proud tradition of welcoming students from all over the world.'' ''India sends more postgraduate students to Australia than any other country in the world,'' Mr Joseph said adding that the number of Indian students studying at Australian Universities had gone up to almost 44,000 as compared to 500 students in 1995.
