IDL launches diamond certification service in Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 29 (UNI) International Diamond Laboratories (IDL) today said it will launch its international operation of certification service for diamonds at the India International Jewellery Show to be held here from August 30 to September 3.

Dubai-based IDL's laboratory in Mumbai will be operational in the month of September this year, the Company said here today.

Speaking to reporters, IDL CEO Peter Meeus said, ''We are excited to present our products first to the world's leading manufacturing center and the world's fastest growing retail market.'' IDL said it has introduced digital certification for quality diamonds, based on colour intensity. ''Leading edge technologies have moved diamond grading from an art to science. Our objectivity is the result of scientifically based standards and methods,'' Mr Meeus asserted.

The Company, focusing particularly on the emerging markets of Asia and the Middle East, will operate as third party certication body in the leading diamond centers of Antwerp in Belgium, Dubai in UAE and Mumbai in India, Mr Meeus added.
