Hyd twin blasts: Accused sketch released
Hyderabad, Aug 29: The city police today released the sketch of a suspected accused, who triggered the blast at Lumbini Park on August 25, based on the information given by a witness.
Releasing the sketch at a press conference here, Special Investigation Team (SIT) official Punna Rao said the suspect was aged about 25 years, fair-complexioned and 5 feet 8 inches tall.
The sketch was prepared based on the information given by a witness, who was also injured in the blast and undergoing treatment, he said, adding that it was prepared by a Mumbai-based multimedia professional, who was brought to the city for the purpose.
SIT was probing the August 25 twin blasts in the city, which claimed 43 lives.
Quoting the witness, Mr Rao said the accused sat on the seat behind the witness and left two seats next to him empty. The accused had kept a black bag at his feet. Clad in white dress, the accused wore spectacles and looked like an IT professional, the police official said. He said that since the witness was not satisfied with the sketch prepared by local professionals, the Mumbai-based professional was brought to the city to prepare it. The witness confirmed that 90 per cent of the sketch tallied with the accused's face.
Appealing to the public to inform the police about the accused, Mr Rao said a reward would also be given for it. Information about the accused could be passed on to the police through the telephone numbers 9490616002 and 9490616129.
The sketch of the accused in Gokul Chat blast, which was triggered by terrorists minutes after the blast at Lumbini park, would also be prepared at the earliest.
Considerable progress had taken place in the investigation into the twin blasts, he claimed.
