HC reserves judgement om Sacha Sauda case

Chandigarh, Aug 29 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today reserved the judgement on three anticipatory bail pleas of Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda head Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in connection with the cases filed against him by the CBI in the court of Special CBI judge at Ambala on July 30.

The cases pertain to the murder of Sirsa-based scribe Ram Chander Dhhatrapati and former Dera manager Ranjit Singh of Kurukashetra district, besides rape of female inmates of the Dera. The investigation into these cases was carried out by the CBI on orders of the High Court and the petitioner was summoned to appear bfeore the Ambala court on August 31.

Hearing the bail applications, Justice Laxmi Narain Mittal also dircted the Special CBI court of Ambala to adjourn the cases from August 31 to a date later than September 15, by when the verdict on the bail applications of the petitioner would become available.
