Congress demands CM's clarification on Reliance entry

Kolkata, Aug 29 (UNI) Describing yesterday's vandalism of a Reliance outlet by the Forward Bloc activists, the Congress today demanded a clarification from Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on the company's entry into the retail sector.

'' We are not against the entry of the Reliance outlet, but Mr Bhattacharjee should first make the government's stand clear before hammering out the differences with its partner Forward Bloc, '' CLP leader in the Assembly Manas Bhuniya told newsmen here.

He said it was not possible to run the outlet by police protection and the CPI(M) and its partner should stop their rift over the issue.

To a query, he said the Congress would decide in a day or two whether it would join the Chief Minister-called all-party meeting.

Regarding the arrest order of Congress MP Adhir Choudhury, Mr Bhuiya said the party would fight according to the law.
