31 SEZ proposals on radar for BoA meet
New Delhi, Aug 29: The Board of Approvals (BOA) of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) will meet here tomorrow to take up 31 SEZ proposals for clearance, including those of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Cognizant Technology.
IT and ITeS Special Economic Zones basically feature in the list of proposals to be taken up by the BoA. Most of the new proposals for SEZs in IT and ITeS are from Haryana and Andhra Pradesh.
TCS proposes to set up a 30.35 hectare IT zone in Ranga Reddy district of Andhra Pradesh, while Cognizant Technology Solutions also has plans to establish a 16-hectare IT zone in the same place.
Mittal Infratech plans to set up an IT zone in Panipat, while Anant Raj Industries proposes to build a 10-hectare IT zone in Sonepat.
Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation intends to set up a 32.57-hectare IT SEZ in Chittoor.
Auto player MAN Industries proposes to set up a 118.6 hectare IT SEZ in Indore.
Gitanjali Gems proposal for a 102-hectare gems and jewellery zone and a 1,000-hectare multi-product project in Maharashtra are also listed for tomorrow's meeting.
The government has so far given 366 formal approvals and 178 in-principle nods to SEZs.
