Air India, Indian Airlines merger gets ministry nod

The
union
ministry
of
corporate
affairs
has
approved
the
merger
of
state-run
Air
India
and
Indian
Airlines,
a
government
statement
said
on
Friday.
With the approval, the legal process for the merger of the two state-run airlines into National Aviation Company Limited is complete. The merged airline, which will fly under the Air India brand, has a fleet of 112 aircraft and has on order for another 111 Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
