AASSATA urges govt to formulate policy for SSA teachers

Itanagar, Aug 29 (UNI) The All Arunachal Sarva Shiksa Abhiyan Teachers' Association (AASSATA) has urged the state government to formulate suitable policy to regulate over 5,000 teachers working under the centrally sponsored Sarva Shiksa Abhiyan (SSA) programme.

The association, while pleading the state government to look into the various problems confronted by SSA teachers, stated that the teachers should be given preference during interview in any category on experience grounds besides disbursing salary to them regularly.

Welcoming the assurance by state Education Minister Tatar Kipa to improve basic infrastructure of schools in the capital complex during his recent visit, the association urged him to provide adequate number of classrooms with teaching and learning equipment, laboratories and playgrounds in all schools under SSA.

The association also requested the minister to visit other schools in remote and far-flung areas to address the problems faced by teachers and students.
