15 security personnel missing after Chhattisgarh encounter

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Aug 29 (UNI) At least 15 security personnel went missing after an encounter with Maoists in dense forests near Sarmetla village in Dantewada district's Jagargunda Police Station limits.

''The Jagargunda Station House Officer is among those who went missing after the encounter, which took place around 1500 hrs,'' said Dantewada's Superintendent of Police Rahul Sharma.

Police said that 40 personnel encountered the rebels. However, only 25 returned to base. Reinforcements were rushed to the area to trace the personnel and carry out combing operations.
