Security on alert at Ayodhya after terror threat

Ayodhya, Aug 28: Security was beefed up at the railway station and the 'Sawan Jhoola Mela' area in Faizabad district following a threat to blow up Kaifiyat Express and Sabarmati Express here today, police said.

ASP (City) Gopesh Nath Khanna said an anonymous caller had also threatened to blow up railway tracks yesterday.

On August 26, four youths who were found loitering near the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi complex in suspicious circumstances were taken into custody and the ASP added that the threat could be related to this incident.

He did not rule out the possibility of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) behind the threat, saying investigations were on.

The four youths hailing from Varanasi were still being interrogated.
