Pakistan condemns Hyderabad blasts

Islamabad, Aug 28: Pakistan has condemned the serial blasts in Hyderabad which left more than 40 people killed over the weekend.

''This was an act of terror and we condemn those who sponsored these blasts," said Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam.

''Pakistan itself is a victim of terrorism and is committed to eliminate it in its own national interest," she said.

Asked about the meeting of Anti-Terror mechanism, she said it is yet to be scheduled and would take some time due to technical reasons, Pakistan's private Geo TV quoting Ms Aslam reported yesterday.

On resolution of the Siachen issue, she said Pakistan would like an early solution of the issue as it was a long standing dispute and was posing environmental concerns also.

Pakistan has made some solid proposals that could lead to the solution with political will, she added.
