Musharraf team and Bhutto agree on final dialogue
Islamabad, Aug 28: President General Pervez Musharraf"s team, led by ISI chief Lt Gen Ashfaq Kiani, and Pakistan People"s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto have reportedly agreed on a final dialogue to sort out their differences ahead of the forthcoming general elections. According to the sources, Musharraf has offered to take off his uniform before the presidential elections, but in return he wants that all political parties agree to elect him president for the next five years, after the elections of the new assemblies.
President also said that his designation should not to be touched till the end of the next presidential tenure.
Sources say that the package offered in the meeting with Benazir Bhutto includes the formation of a national government, nominated by the chief election commissioner after consulting with political parties.
Important personalities from the government and important leaders including Benazir Bhutto from the PPP were present in the meeting.
During the discussion on the package, a demand for announcing general amnesty for all political leaders and to abolish the ban on becoming prime minister for more than two times, was also discussed.
