DM pays for not recognising CM's voice
Patna, Aug 28 (UNI) The District Magistrate (DM) of Saharsa, Niranjan Choudhary, was replaced with another IAS officer for not recognising Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's voice yesterday.
Official sources here today said the state government had also issued a notification in this regard and directed Narmadeshwar Lal to take the charge as Saharsa DM.
Mr Choudhary had failed to recognise the chief minister's voice, when the latter had made a phone call to inquire about the relief operation being carried out in a particular area of the district.
Mr Choudhary had replied to Mr Kumar in a casual way and did not provide any specific information, officials said.
Mr Kumar had called up the DM following complaints recieved from flood victims on distribution of relief materials in that area.
