CM mulls a 'Special Force' to combat terrorism
Hyderabad, Aug 28 (UNI) In the aftermath of the twin bomb blasts in the State capital that snuffed more than 40 lives, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today proposed setting up of a special force on the lines of the Greyhounds engaged in anti-naxal operations, to combat terrorism.
The proposed force should work as a separate intelligence wing of the State Police, specifically, to counter terrorism activities. It should gather intelligence and act swiftly on terrorist and other subversive activities, Dr Reddy said in a release here.
The recruitment may be direct or on deputation, he said adding that a committee of the Police Department would be constituted to study the proposal.
