Hyderabad, Aug 28 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee(APCC) today ridiculed Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu's demand for Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's resignation following Saturday's twin bomb blasts in the city.

Addressing the press here, Party Official Spokespersons N Tulasi Reddy and M Kondada Reddy said Mr Naidu never thought of resigning though during his tenure there were several incidents such as bomb attack on TDP MLA Paritala Ravi, assassination of Former TDP Home Minister A Madhava Reddy and an attempt on his (Naidu) life during TDP rule.

Instead of expressing his solidarity with the government on the unfortunate incident, the TDP was trying to gain political mileage.

They alleged the TDP President and his leaders were politicising every incident in the state with a view to malgin the government and the Congress.

It was the responsibility of the main Opposition party in the state to support the government in its fight against the terrorism and suggest measures on the issue.

They alleged previous TDP Government did not give any compensation to victims of police firing during the agitation against increase in electricity charges during their rule.
