4 civic officials held for causing boy's death
Rajkot, Aug 28 (UNI) Four Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) officials, including Estate Officer C B Bathwar, have been arrested for causing the death of a twelve-year-old boy, Rahul Malvi, during a demolition drive Sunday last.
The other three officials arrested include Estate Department inspectors Deepak Parmar (48) and Naghji Ghelabhai (56), and JCB driver Bharat Dodia (45). Later, they were released on bail, the police sources said.
Rahul Malvi (12), who worked at a tea stall on Kalawad Road area here, was killed after the roof of the stall collapsed on him during a demolition drive undertaken by the civic body.
Meanwhile, the RMC has paid a compensation of Rs one lakh to Rahul's parents and has also promised to allot them a house.
