UP govt directs district level help to affected families

Lucknow, Aug 27 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today directed the officials at district level to go in relief operation for those affeted by floods and other other natural calamities ''Tehsildar has been allowed to grant monetary help of Rs 5,000 each for the calamity affected family, while SDM and district magistrate can lend help of Rs 7,000 and over Rs 7,000 respectively for a family,'' UP chief secretary Prashant Kumar Mishra said.

The committee set under the district magistrate would move according to the priority work in the affected districts.

Besides, a state-level approval would be required for the development work worth more than Rs 10 lakh.

''A task force would also be set up to monitor of the development work in the flood-affected districts,'' Mr Mishra added.

He the district level committee should meet every week to assess the development work in the flood-hit districts.
