Terror orgainsations based abroad behind Hyderabad blasts: Govt

New Delhi, Aug 27 (UNI) The preliminary investigations into the twin blasts of Hyderabad has indicated involvement of some groups based abroad and known to be indulging in such activities in India, the government today said and indicated that these terror outfits may be Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta told reporters here on the sidelines of a function that investigations into the twin blasts in Hyderabad are on and the aim was to identify the persons who did this and nab them. However, since investigations were in the initial stage, it would not be proper to name any specific group at this moment, he added.

According to security agencies involved in the Investigations, Bangladesh based terror outfit Huji, and Pakistan based LeT tand JeM groups are likely to be involved in these high intensity blasts which claimed over 40 lives. Many of these terrorist organisations coordinate their nefarious activities, they added.

Mr Gupta said India has been taking up the issue of terrorism in bilateral and multilateral fora. In the past two months also, the issue has been discussed during bilateral talks, he said referring to the Indo-Pak Home Secretary level talks and Indo-Bangladesh talks.

About media reports that India after Iraq has the second highest number of incidents of terrorism and casualities in these attcaks, ministry sources admitted that terrorism was a serious area of concern for the nation and said that concerted efforts are being made to contain the violence perpetrated on innocent people and mayhem created by these terror outfits as happened in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the Centre has issued an advisory to the states to take necessary precautionary measures to prevent any terror attacks following the Hyderabad blasts. Security alert has been issued in view of festivals like Raksha Bandhan, Janamashtmi and Onam.

Home Minister Shivraj Patil is likely to make a suo-motu statement in Parliament on the Hyderabad blasts on Wednesday to give details of the results of the investigations into the blasts.

Special Secretary Internal Security M L Kumawat, who reached Hyderabad immediately after the blasts on August 25, is overseeing the investigations by various security agencies. He would return to the national capital only on August 30.
