School headmasters to observe relay fast from Sept 26

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 27 (UNI) Members of the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary School Headmasters Association will observe a three-day fast from September 26 in Chennai to draw the State Government's attention to their long pending demands.

In a statement here, Association President Ammaiappan said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the General Council of the Association, which met here yesterday.

He said they were demanding, among other things, incentive for two time higher studies, increase in their promotion ratio for the post of District Educational Officers from the current 25 per cent to 50 per cent as in the case of high school headmasters, pay on par with Central Government staff and their appointment as Personal Assistants to Chief Educational Officers.
