Samajwadi Party MP booked under section 174 A

Allahabad, Aug 27 (UNI) Six people, along with Samajwadi Party MP and a declared absconder Atiq Ahmad, his brother and former MLA Mohammad Ashraf have been booked under section 174 A.

Superintendent of Police (City) Jugal Kishore today said this is the first instance where an FIR was registered under section 174 A.

Accused could be held for three years under this section, he added.

Earlier, they were booked under section 82, after failing to produce themselves in court, cases had been registered in three police stations of the city under section 174 A yesterday.

Atiq was declared an absconder after he repeatedly remained absent in the court for the case of kidnapping a BSP MLA Raju Pal's murder witness.

On July 25, court passed the order for attachment of MP's property. After a month, Atiq, his brother and his aides were booked under section 174 A.
