Russia to supply ship-parts for Indian Navy

Moscow, Aug 27 (UNI) Russia today said it will supply ship-parts worth 20 million dollars to Indian navy.

Russia's state-controlled shipyard Baltiisky Zavod will manufacture ship components for the navy.

The plant in St Petersburg will produce three sets of shaft lines for Project 15-A destroyers, which are currently being built in India, under a contract signed in April 2007, RIA Novosti news agency reported quoting the company. Each set of shaft lines includes two shaft lines and two propellers.

The company said it will deliver the first shipment in 2008, the second in 2009, and the third in 2010.

Baltiisky Zavod specialises in ice-breakers, nuclear and diesel ice-class vessels, heavy tonnage cargo ships and warships.
