Pondy Govt facing financial, administrative crises
Puducherry, Aug 27 (UNI) CPI National Council member MLA R Viswanathan, MLA, today charged the administration with facing financial and administrative crises.
Addressing a press conference here, he said consequently, several schemes announced by the government could not be implemented and suggested that Chief Minister N Rangasamy convene an all-party meeting to tide over the crises. There was no follow-up action to the unanimous resolutions adopted in the Assembly seeking more powers to the Union Territory and to make all caste people as archakars (priests) in temples.
Pointing to a meeting of the district Collector and police officials to sort out land disputes, Mr Viswanathan demanded that such a meeting be convened to sort out law and order problems too.
He demanded that the administration take immediate steps to dispose of cases pending in courts for several years in connection with lands acquired by the government and distribute 600 hectares of land to the landless peasants.
