Passenger information and facilitation centre at Vadodara station

Ahmedabad, Aug 27 (UNI) Minister of State for Railways Naranbhai J Rathawa inaugurated the newly built 'Passenger Information and Facilitation Centre' at Vadodara station yesterday.

Vadodara station situated on Mumbai-Delhi trunk BG-main line serves to approximately 21 lakh population of Vadodara and adjoining areas. Total 192 trains are dealt at the Vadodara railway station and 5,263 number of seats are reserved average per day and another 36,002 unreserved passengers book their tickets with reserved earnings fetching Rs 15.50 lakh while the unreserved earnings are Rs 12.06 lakh, according to a Western Railways release here.

Vadodara station is provided with a computerised reservation system, unreserved ticketing system (UTS) and other passenger amenities. An ATM is also installed.

Major improvements in passenger amenities have been carried out at the Vadodara railway station. In line with these developmental works, a 'Passenger Information and Facilitation Centre' has been newly constructed at a cost of Rs 16 lakh approximately.

In this centre, modern facilities like plasma TV for giving details of enquiry and electronic berth availability display board for giving room message by various trains has been provided.

Vadodara Division Divisional Railway Manager Suhas Kumar and other Railway officials were present on the occasion. Mr Rathawa also announced an award of Rs one lakh on the occasion.
