Nepal Govt recommends nationalising more royal palaces and land

Kathmandu, Aug 27 (UNI) The Nepal Government has decided to nationalise more royal palaces and Land.

The government recommended the nationalisation of the Nagarjuna Forest and Gokarna Golf Links, Diyalo Bungalow in the Chitwan National Park and Ratna Mandir on the bank of the Phewa lake in Pokhara. It has also decided to nationalise more than five forests.

King Gyanendra had moved to the Nagarjuna retreat on Friday after the government's decision to nationalise the Narayanhiti Royal Palace. However, going by Thursday's cabinet decision, the royal family is free to stay on in the palace until the polls, the Himalayan Times said.

The recommendation will be endorsed by a cabinet meeting today and a formal announcement will be made after that.

The decision to recommend the nationalisation of more royal properties will come after Thursday's cabinet decision to nationalise seven prime palaces.
