Crackers explosion claims two lives

Lucknow, Aug 27 (UNI) Two persons were killed and 14 others received serious wounds, when the roof of a house collapsed following a blast caused by crackers at Kuarsi area of Aligarh today.

The incident took place at a residence of one Siddhiqi in Jeevan Garh colony, where two bags of crackers accidently caught fire, Senior Superintendent of Police Raghubir Lal told UNI.

There were 19 people in the house, where two persons succumbed and 14 injured had been admitted to hospital.

A large quantity of crackers were purchased for the festival 'Shabe Barat'.
