Train's engine catches fire
Hardoi, Aug 26 (UNI) The engine of Lucknow mail train today caught fire in this district of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occurred near the Kauda railway station, when the engine of Lucknow mail (4230) en route from New Delhi to Lucknow, caught fire in the early hours. However no one was injured, police said.
Former chief minister and BJP leader Kalyan Singh was also on board.
Fire-fighters reached the Hardoi railway station after being informed about the accident.
The fire had engulfed the engine and could only be put out after about an hour's struggle.
Later, the damaged engine was replaced with a new one before the train set off for its destination.
Prima facie, a technical snag is stated to be the reason for the incident.
