Three killed as rope car snaps

Chennai, Aug 26 (UNI) Three people were crushed to death when the rope car to the Palani hill Temple, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga, snapped this evening.

Police said two others were also injured in the incident and admitted to a hospital.

The two-way rope car system was introduced sometime back for the benefit of pilgrims.

Two rope cars coming in the opposite direction, hit against each other following which one of them snapped when the accident occurred.
