Three arrested under Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act
Hoshiarpur, Aug 26 (UNI) The Punjab Police today arrested three persons under sections 4, 5, 11, and 29 of the Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act after recovering 15 cows and calves from them.
The arrested were identified as Maha Singh and Chaur Singh alias Kaka, both of Naru Nangal village and truck driver Tej Bahadur of UP.
According to the police sources, on a tip off, the City Police intercepted a truck and seized 15 cows and calves from it while these were being transported to Himachal Pradesh. When police inquired about the animals, the trio could not produce any relevant document for ferrying the animals to Himachal Pradesh.
