Sugarcane crushing season to begin from October 1: Kadam

Sangli, Maharashtra, Aug 26 (UNI) Maharashtra Cooperation Minister Patangrao Kadam today said the current sugarcane crushing season in the state sugar factories will start from October 1.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Kadam said the cane-crushing season will start after the state cabinet takes a decision in this connection.

Taking into consideration the surplus sugarcane output, the state government has asked all the sugar factories in the state to run the mills till the total crop is crushed, he pointed out.

The state government has been pressing the Union government to get funds towards rural development, societies, urban cooperative banks in the state as recommended by Vaidhyanathan Committee, Mr Kadam added.
