Security tightened at Kanakadurga temple

Vijayawada, Aug 26 (UNI) Security has been tightened at the famous Kanakadurga temple atop Indrakeeladri hill today following the bomb blasts, which killed 39 people and injured many, in Hyderabad last night.

Temple officials told UNI here that ten SPF personnel, 32 private security guards and four police personnel were posted at the temple.

The police and bomb squad conducted search in the temple late last night.

Devotees were fully screened before being allowed inside the temple, the officials said.

Meanwhile, the Armed Reserve Police and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) were put on hight alert at Vijayawada Railway Station.

The passengers and their luggage were checked with metal detectors.

Police pickets were posted all over the city.
