Red alert sounded in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam, Aug 26 (UNI) A red alert was sounded here today following the blasts in Hyderabad last night.
According to City Police Commissioner N Sambasiva Rao, key places in the city were put under surveillance.
He said extra forces were deployed at Ramakrishna Beach where people throng on Sundays.
The traffic police have intensified vehicle checks.
The local unit of the BJP condemned the blasts and demanded resignation of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
''Dr Reddy has lost the moral right to continue as the Chief Minister. He has failed to maintain law and order in the state. It is the result of minority appeasement policy pursued by the Congress government,'' BJP City Secretary M Ramakrishna Raju alleged.
