Police collect materials from blast site

Hyderabad, Aug 26 (UNI) Police today cordoned off the Lumbini park area, where the bomb blast occurred last night and collected materials used for the explosion.

A special police team arrived at the scene this morning and conducted a thorough search.

However, they refused to divulge any details of the investigation stating that it was premature to say anything at the moment.

Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Aanam Ramanarayana Reddy, who visited the spot this morning said this was for first time that the terrorists attacked a tourist spot.

Condemning the incident, he said the government would initiate more efforts to combat terrorism.

He said the tourism department and Hyderabad Urban Development officials would jointly conduct a meeting to provide additional security at Lumbini park in future.
