Patiala to meet Amritsar in cricket inter district

Patiala, Aug 26 (UNI) Patiala have qualified to meet Amritsar in the final of Punjab Inter-District Under-22 Cricket Tournament by virtue of first innings lead against Jalandhar on the concluding day here at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium.

The final is billed for August 28, 29 and 30 here at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium.

Overnight 194 for six in 68 overs, Patiala resumed their innings on a quiet note. Perry Goyal, who was 30 not out yesterday, played a stellar role, scoring a polished half century (51) to overtake Jalandhar's first innings score of 225 single-handed.

Patiala were eventually all out for 262 in 93 overs and took a lead of 37 runs. For Jalandhar, Varun Kumar bowled well to capture 5 wickets, giving away 63 runs, while Maninder Singh got 2 for 55.

Jalandhar were 108 for 4 in the second innings at the end of day's play. Navdeep Singh (35) and Satpal (33) were the main run getters.

For Patiala, S Ladda captured three wickets, conceding 30 runs.
