Orissa resident among 5 killed in Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 26 (UNI) Five people, including a resident from Orissa, were killed and four others injured in the Kashmir valley overnight, a police spokesman said today.
He said two boys-- Arif and Touseef Ahmad-- got drowned in the River Sindh at Kullan in Ganderbad district while taking bath today.
The bodies were later recovered and handed over to their family members.
A labourer Kishna Kaloo, son of Babas Tangarur, a resident of Talsora Orissa, was critically injured during drilling in a tunnel at Kalgai Uri in north Kashmir.
However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
In another incident, 60-year-old Mohammad syed Khan was critically wounded when a speedy vehicle hit him at Khanyar in the downtown city. He was shifted to hospital, where he died.
The spokesman said a tipper overturned near railway bridge at Raso Beerwah in the central Kashmir district of Budgam causing on the spot death of driver Mohammad Ayub Mir.
Three persons, including a girl, were injured in road accidents while one person was injured during quarry at Tressa Safapora.
The injured were hospitalised.
